lobhaḥ = greed; pravṛttiḥ = activity; ārambhaḥ = endeavor; karmaṇāṃ = in activities; aśamaḥ = uncontrollable; spṛhā = desire; rajasi = of the mode of passion; etāni = all these; jāyante = develop; vivṛddhe = when there is an excess; bharatarṣabha = O chief of the descendants of Bharata.;
